EUDR guide palm oil

EUDR for palm oil.

Palm oil enters the EU in more forms than most operators expect. The EUDR covers crude and refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, palm nuts and kernels, and derivatives such as industrial fatty acids and glycerol. That puts food, cosmetics, and oleochemical buyers in scope. Behind each product sits a chain of smallholders, estates, mills, refineries, and traders.

The mill anchors the chain. Fresh fruit bunches must be processed within a day or two of harvest, so a mill's catchment area effectively defines its supplier base, including the surrounding smallholders. Bosqio's palm oil modules follow that structure, keeping plot evidence and producer records organized around the mills that actually receive the fruit.

Remote sensing needs care with oil palm. A mature plantation forms a dense tree canopy that can resemble forest cover, while young plantings are easy to miss. Plot history and field evidence make those signals readable. The Bosqio App helps capture that context on the ground, with geopositions and geolocated photos taken at the plot.
